Original House Our exterior renovation of our lake house was a big job to put it mildly. I covered in my last post: addition/reno of the front of the house. Lake House Make Over – Front Exterior
After renovating the inside of our old lake house, it was time to tackle the exterior. The house was a boring rectangular box that needed new siding, windows, as well as, a new roof. Storage was a problem, and we had no laundry room. My husband and I decided to go all in and add a mudroom and a large covered patio. Next year we hope to add two more bedrooms and another bathroom, but that will be considered Phase 2. Master Closet Makeover
I have a large master closet, but unfortunately a bigger closet can just be a bigger mess. I was in need of some serious organization! Dress Up your Knobs
During my guest bedroom makeover, I debated whether or not to try and use some Ikea furniture that had recently been cast off from my girls’ rooms. The dresser and bedside table were not in horrible shape but nothing special…. Notice the small standard black knobs that come on most IKEA dressers (above), this is what I used to make a big difference in the overall look. Step 1 Remove the knobs and consider painting the base color of the dresser/bedside table. I chose a deep green and used spray paint, but you could also use chalk paint.
