“How to Guide” for building modern industrial shelves
I’ve noticed the industrial modern shelves in many of our local restaurants and I think it’s so cool. I wanted to give it a try even though my house is far from what you would call modern or industrial. Our office has limited space and pretty much two of everything, including two printers. So we decided on office shelves, which gave us the ability to customize the needed height of shelves (for the printers) and flexibility (lightswitch access/cords hidden/etc.). Even though this wasn’t quite as budget friendly as most of my projects (coming in right at $250), it’s one of my favorites. Deciding on materials: There’s three options for your…

Awesome Austrian Meatloaf
During our last trip to Vienna, Markus’ mother Olga prepared Austrian meatloaf, so delicious! This is one of his all time favorites and the girls loved it, too. My meatloaf is good, but not quite as good as Olga’s. I am blaming the difference of ingredients available here, but trust me this recipe is still worth trying. Yoga has helped me to tap into a universal feeling of calmness and connectivity. There are many different types of yoga. I went years where I only practiced hot yoga, and now I prefer a more gentle or restorative. For those of you who are new…

Guest Bathroom refresh
My guest bathroom needed a refresh! I am not exactly sure what I was thinking when we first moved into the house (10+ years ago), when I painted it gold. But it was time for a new coat of paint, as well as, an overall update. When we did the master bedroom, I purchased a small paint sprayer that worked well for that room. I thought it would be quite easy to tape the bathroom in prep for the sprayer because the rooom is small. But the prep took a long time and the sprayer did not work as well on a small room. In hindsight, I would have been…

Here is one meal that is quick and delicious. Tilapia – from freezer to plate in 20 minutes, including microwaved sweet potato and tossed salad I like to buy my seafood in the individual portioned vacuum sealed bags, this especially helps when you are cooking one portion.
